Mechanical Superintendent

About The Role JDS Energy & Mining is seeking an experienced Mechanical Superintendent to support mining and industrial projects. This is a site-based FIFO role responsible for the field execution and oversight of all mechanical construction activities, including contractor supervision, quality assurance, safety compliance, and coordination with project and engineering teams to meet schedule and budget objectives. The JDS Way All employees are expected to demonstrate the following: Accept No MediocrityConduct Business Professionally, Ethically, and PracticallyBe True to Our WordUphold the Highest Standards of Leadership, Teamwork, and AccountabilityMaintain Open and Honest CommunicationEnsure No Harm to People, the Environment, Assets, or Reputation Key Responsibilities Field Supervision Lead and supervise mechanical subcontractors during installation of equipment, pumps, tanks, and process infrastructureEnsure work is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and applicable codes (ASME, CSA, API)Monitor progress and ensure schedule milestones are met without compromising safety or qualityOversee installation of mine process systems including pump stations, slurry and water systems, flotation circuits, thickeners, and grinding mills Quality & Compliance Conduct inspections and testing including alignment, torqueing, and installation verificationVerify installation quality and adherence to scopeEnsure QA/QC documentation and turnover packages are completed and submitted Safety Leadership Enforce site safety policies and participate in audits, toolbox talks, and investigationsIdentify and mitigate field hazards related to lifting, rigging, pressure systems, and stored energyPromote a strong safety culture across all crews Coordination Interface with superintendents, construction managers, and engineering teams to resolve field issuesSupport planning, material tracking, and commissioning activitiesCommunicate progress updates and highlight risks impacting execution
