About the role
The Mechanical Superintendent oversees and coordinates all mechanical construction activities on assigned projects. Key responsibilities include leading and coordinating field operations, maintaining safety and quality standards, coordinating subcontractors and self-perform crews, and driving projects to successful completion.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily mechanical construction activities performed by Elford crews and subcontractors.
- Maintain strong working relationships with owners, design teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
- Monitor field operations to ensure work is progressing safely, efficiently, and according to project schedules.
- Supervise and mentor field personnel while promoting a collaborative and productive jobsite culture.
- Cookordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and logistics to support project goals.
- Ensure all mechanical installations meet project plans, specifications, codes, and quality standards.
- Oversee required testing, commissioning activities, inspections, and corrective work when necessary.
Requirements
- 10+ years of construction industry experience with a focus on mechanical systems.
- 5+ years of experience in a Superintendent, Foreman, or Mechanical Field Leadership role.
- Experience managing HVAC, plumbing, piping, process mechanical, or large commercial mechanical construction projects.
- Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and working in occupied or complex environments is preferred.
Qualifications
- Trade school, apprenticeship program, Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Mechanical Systems, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and practical field experience will be considered.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of mechanical construction means, methods, and sequencing.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to influence teams and drive accountability across project stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving, planning, and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency with construction technology and standard computer applications.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Willingness to travel as project needs require.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Pay
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
