Position Purpose
Responsible for mechanical HVAC equipment start-up, checkout and troubleshooting.
Position Responsibilities
- Perform duties associated with mechanical system startup, such as troubleshooting and resolving various operational problems with HVAC mechanical systems.
- Assist in the service of mechanical and control systems that are under Bassett contract.
- Assist in the coordination, install and start-up of mechanical and control systems as requested.
- Assist in design, coordination, wiring and other work as assigned.
- Attend classes and/or apprenticeship classes as required to increase knowledge of HVAC and controls.
- Support and maintain a safe and Lean working environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Summary of Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Good electrical knowledge.
- Good organizational skills.
- Journeyman, associate degree or equivalent experience with HVAC systems preferred.
- Ability to travel.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong computer skills.
- Must be physically able to enter restricted or confined spaces (air handlers, ducts, etc.) for first hand observation or inspection.
- Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record
