Mechanical Specialist

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, repair and diagnose complex, critical mechanical/plumbing systems and equipment relating to Building Infrastructure.
• Complete Preventive Maintenance per policies and/or procedures following the CMMS timeline ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Demonstrates effective communication, assertiveness, and versatility in responding to customer needs.
• Is able to plan, organize, and prioritize work tasks.
• May be required to work with others in planning and scheduling for modifications and repairs to systems with minimal disruption to the mission of our organization while meeting fiscal constraints.
• Is alert to all aspects of equipment when responding to customer requests and communicate concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Possesses excellent human relations skills to interact with staff, visitors, and patients.
• Available to work occasional overtime.
• On-call rotation may be required.
• Maximum response times for on-call determined per campus location.
• Serves as a resource and mentor to others.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or a two year degree from a technical college related to a Building Infrastructure System maintenance program.
• Five years of trade specific experience working with plumbing and mechanical systems related to Building Infrastructure.
• Four years of military experience in a related field may be considered in lieu of the educational and field service experience requirements.
• Experience working in a healthcare facility is preferred.
• MN 1st Class A, B or C Engineer License or Chief A, B, or C engineer license required.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record in accordance with Mayo Clinic Policy.

Compensation Detail

• Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
• $32.43 - $48.66 / hour

• Schedule Details: Tuesday-Saturday Day Shift.
• On-Call required on a rotating basis.
