Mechanical Solutions Engineer Senior

BAI, a defense contractor, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with Digital Engineering/MBSE experience to work on a program at Point Mugu, CA.

About the role

• Create mechanical designs and CAD models for payloads and assemblies
• Perform thermal and structural FEA analysis
• Select materials and design for environmental ruggedization
• Support payload integration on platforms including mounts and harness routing
• Produce manufacturing documentation with GD&T and tolerances
• Support vibration, thermal, and environmental testing
• Demonstrable experience in MBSE/Digital Engineering capabilities

Requirements

• 10 years’ experience as a Mechanical Engineer
• 5 years of mechanical design/analysis experience
• Proficient in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo
• Experience with FEA tools such as ANSYS, COMSOL
• Experience with thermal analysis and environmental qualification
• Strong knowledge of materials, GD&T, and manufacturing processes
• BS in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred) or a relevant technical discipline
• Active DoD SECRET clearance or ability to obtain and sustain one
• US citizenship at the time of application

Pay

The typical annual salary range for this position is $120,000.00 USD to $140,000.00 USD. Salary will be based on current qualifications, directly related experience, geographic location, and possible contractual requirements which could fall outside of this range.
