About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Service Technician to join our team in the Transportation and Warehousing industry. As a Mechanical Service Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various types of vehicles and equipment, ensuring they are in top working condition. Your work will directly impact the safety and efficiency of our operations, making attention to detail and a commitment to quality essential. You will work closely with other members of our team to ensure that all maintenance and repair work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Responsibilities
- Performing routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues, including engine, transmission, and electrical systems
- Performing safety inspections and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations
- Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance and repair work
- Collaborating with other team members to ensure that all work is completed on time and to the highest standards
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a vocational or technical program in automotive or diesel technology
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
Preferred Qualifications
- ASE certification
- Experience with heavy-duty trucks and equipment
- Experience with welding and fabrication
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
