Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist in the restoration and repair of air handling units, including fans, dampers, coils, and insulation.
- Perform cleaning, sanding, coating, and sealing of AHU components to improve efficiency and extend operational life.
- Use hand and power tools to disassemble and reassemble mechanical parts.
- Replace worn or damaged components such as bearings, belts, motors, and filters.
- Apply protective coatings and sealants to prevent corrosion and air leaks.
- Follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Work in confined spaces and adhere to ventilation and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with technicians and supervisors to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Travel to job sites and assist in equipment transport as needed.
- Work in varying conditions, including hot, cold, and humid environments.
- May involve exposure to dust, dirt, and chemical coatings (with proper PPE provided).
- Some overnight travel may be required depending on project locations.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in mechanical restoration, HVAC, or general labor preferred.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and mechanical measuring devices.
- Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, bend, kneel, and work in tight spaces.
- Willingness to work in various environments, including rooftops, mechanical rooms, and industrial facilities.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and airflow principles is a plus.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to OSHA guidelines.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.
Technical Skills
- Experience in HVAC, sheet metal work, or industrial equipment restoration is preferred.
- Knowledge of protective coatings and insulation applications is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints or schematics.
