Mechanical Repair Technician III - 2nd Shift (Onsite)

This position is onsite in Miramar, FL and requires U.S. Person status (U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).

About the role

Join Collins Aerospace as a Repair Technician and contribute to the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aviation components. You’ll work closely with supervision, engineering, and cross-functional teams to resolve repair, overhaul, test, and quality issues. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in aircraft power control systems, preferably within an FAA Part 145 MRO environment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in continuous improvement and environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) initiatives.
• Meet individual and departmental performance goals.
• Collaborate with supervisors and support personnel to resolve problems.
• Use the SAP operating system to enter and retrieve information for daily activities.
• Maintain safe work habits and a neat, orderly work area.
• Follow FAA and company regulations to perform assigned work.
• Interface with customers, government personnel, or auditors as needed.
• Inspect and disposition components and modules.
• Rework, repair, scrap, and replace/order components, modules, and LRUs as required.
• Assemble, disassemble, clean, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electronic accessory components, including testing.
• Check clearances, tolerances, and alignment; make adjustments to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Record data to accept or reject components based on approved maintenance criteria.
• Identify parts by part number and serialization.
• Verify electrical continuity, insulation resistance, and dielectric testing of electromechanical devices.
• Independently follow through on job assignments, resolving questions and problems.
• Support and participate in EH&S, Quality, and HR Employee Engagement initiatives.

Requirements

• High school diploma (or equivalent, e.g., GED) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Working knowledge of technical sheets, work instructions, or blueprints.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English (per FAR 65.71(a)(2) and FAR 145.155(b)).

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in the aerospace industry, preferably in an MRO environment.
• A&P license or currently attending school for one.

Schedule

• 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
• Training will take place on 1st Shift before transitioning to 2nd Shift.
