This is an onsite position located in Wilson, NC. U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, refugee, or asylee status is required.

About the role

As a Mechanical Repair Technician III at Collins Aerospace, you will service customer-returned products and ensure their functional operation. Your work will maintain high quality, timeliness, and compliance with company and federal regulations. You will collaborate with team members to achieve company goals in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Repair products in accordance with product component maintenance manuals to meet regulations.
  • Disassemble, clean, repair, and test fire-extinguisher products.
  • Use a wide range of hand and power tools.
  • Navigate SAP with minimal assistance.
  • Comply with all Collins Aerospace rules and regulations, including Environmental Health and Safety, Ethics, International Trade Compliance, and Human Resources.
  • Check work methods and results for conformance to standards.
  • Report work progress and updates, including failure conditions, to Lead or Supervisor.
  • Perform all aspects of the repair process: receiving, inspection, cleaning, tear-down, documentation, repair, reassembly, and packaging for customer return.
  • Apply strong attention to detail to ensure safety and quality while maintaining a clean work area.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain productivity.
  • Perform tasks requiring frequent standing, sitting, stooping, and occasional climbing, balancing, crouching, and reaching.
  • Be available for overtime, including extended workdays and weekends.

Requirements

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • This position is considered safety-sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines; candidates will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120 and 49 CFR part 40.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical ability.
  • Welding experience.
  • Ability to follow testing procedures and perform tasks proficiently.
  • Ability to interpret schematics and/or technical drawings.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including typing, navigating screens, and learning new software programs.

Schedule

This is a 1st shift position with the following hours: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM. Overtime may be required.
