Mechanical Repair Tech.

Scope

Assemble gearboxes and component parts for refurbishment and assembly.

Special Skills & Requirements

• Operate overhead crane and forklift
• Use hand held power, hand held precision measuring and manual tools
• Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble gearboxes/products
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Working knowledge of mechanical components/assemblies to suggest improvements
• Ability to work accurately and thoroughly in a timely manner, while maintaining safety as a priority
• Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem and to think in such a way as to produce a new concept or idea
• Ability to lift and/or push 25 pounds, stand, bend, and squat with repetitive movements for 8 hours
• High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
• Work overtime on an as needed basis

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED
• 3-5 years of mechanical assembly experience, gearbox preferred

Responsibilities

• Work in a team environment to accomplish goals
• Utilize hand held precision measuring tools such as micrometers and depth mics
• Perform quality work inspections to ensure the product meets quality standards
• Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
• Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification
• Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
• Maintain a clean and safe work area per 5S practices
