Mechanical Project Manager
Position Summary
The candidate will oversee all project objectives, including planning, scope, schedule, budget, team coordination, stakeholder communication, risk management, and quality assurance. This role focuses on facilities engineering and design projects across educational, public works, water/wastewater, transportation, transit, government, and aviation sectors. As a Mechanical Project Manager you will lead facilities-driven MEP projects in education, aviation, transit, water and government sectors. We seek candidates with expertise in mechanical and plumbing systems, including: Domestic/sanitary piping, HVAC, and industrial duct design. DX refrigeration, hydronic distribution, and air-handling equipment. Central thermal plants and fire protection.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Perform engineering calculations to determine optimal mechanical design solutions.
Lead field investigations, HVAC load studies, energy modeling, and code reviews.
Produce and quality-check mechanical/plumbing design documents (drawings/specifications) for bidding and construction.
Mentor junior engineers and review design deliverables.
Ensure designs comply with client specifications and local/state codes, liaising with permitting offices.
Resolve complex design and construction-phase issues.
Serve as project manager for mechanical facilities projects of varying scales.
Monitor schedules, budgets, accounts receivable, and Client; prepare invoices.
Develop project management plans, pricing, budgets, and schedules.
Maintain project-specific quality plans and scope documentation.
Support client presentations, coordination, and business development.
Manage internal teams, multi-discipline collaborators, and subconsultants.
Draft extra work orders and task proposals for open-end contracts.
Aid leadership with marketing proposals.
Provide team leadership, performance feedback, and coaching.
Display proactive problem-solving, initiative, and ownership of deliverables.
Required Skills

Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Architectural Engineering (ABET-accredited).
12+ years of discipline-specific experience.
Experience designing HVAC/plumbing systems of varying complexity.
Professional Engineer (PE) License.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Proficiency in MS Office, Revit, AutoCAD, IESVE/Carrier HAP.
Knowledge of building codes.
MUST HAVE
ABET-accredited BS in Mechanical/Architectural Engineering.
12+ years in mechanical/plumbing system design.
PE License.
Proficiency in MS Office, Revit, AutoCAD, IESVE/Carrier HAP.
Knowledge of building codes.
Clean Motor Vehicle record.
NICE TO HAVE
CxA, BCxP, CAPM, or PMP certification.
Government client experience.
Project management/business development skills.
Multi-delivery-method (DBB, Design-Build, P3) experience.
Industrial systems/fire protection design.
