Mechanical Operations Manager

About the role

The Mechanical Operations Manager position is available to work closely with the Department Head to lead team performance, oversee staffing and resource planning, and drive successful project execution across multiple offices.

Responsibilities

• Review engineering plans, specifications, and project deliverables to ensure technical accuracy and quality standards.
• Oversee the quality and consistency of engineering work within the department.
• Prepare project proposals, budgets, scopes of work, and technical reports.
• Develop and manage project schedules, resource plans, and budgets.
• Maintain strong client relationships, participate in project presentations, and support business development efforts.
• Manage project scope changes, including communicating additional services and associated costs to clients.
• Support project billing processes and coordinate with accounting to ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
• Aid in staff development, including mentoring, performance feedback, and supporting career growth opportunities.
• Contribute to recruiting, training, and onboarding of new team members.
• Promote a collaborative team environment and support cross-functional training opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and actively participate in safety training initiatives.

Requirements

• B.S. Civil Engineering or related field
• Professional Engineer license is preferred but is not required
• Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills
• Prior project and client management experience
• Experience in mentoring and coaching junior staff
• Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to obtain clearances (for PA school projects)
