About the role

A Mechanical Maintenance Technician will maintain and repair factory equipment, industrial machinery, and associated electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment.
  • Disassemble machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on complex electrical systems, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), control circuits, communication systems, I/O field devices, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and motors.
  • Observe and test the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters or other testing devices.
  • Industrial Machinery Assembler Mechanic:
    • Repair, install, adjust or maintain industrial production and processing machinery.
    • Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery.
    • Examine parts for defects such as breakage or excessive wear.
    • Operate newly repaired machinery or equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
    • Analyze test results, machine error messages, or information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems.
    • Record parts or materials used, order or put in a requisition for new parts or materials, as necessary.
    • Record repairs and maintenance performed.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, or assemble new equipment.
  • Operate computer-controlled machinery.
  • Demonstrate equipment functions and features to machine operators.

Requirements

  • Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Electrical – Knowledge of PLC’s, VFD’s, and electrical testing equipment.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Relevant training or certification in mechanical or electrical maintenance is preferred.

Skills

  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Basic computer literacy.

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The schedule is 4 on 4 off days currently. When the crew is full, it will be 4 on 4 off rotating from days to nights from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.
