Responsibilities

  • Performs all work in a safe, efficient manner and follows all safety procedures.
  • Maintains work area in neat and orderly condition.
  • Detects, reports, and repairs faulty operation, defective material, and equipment.
  • Collaborates with appropriate personnel to transmit and exchange information pertinent to work-related activities.
  • Operates machines and equipment in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Communicates quality and machine problems to supervisor, team members, and maintenance.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs facility equipment resulting in operational downtime.
  • Repairs requiring > 60 minutes and/or external resources must be reported to supervisor (or designee).
  • Carries out Preventative Maintenance procedures on facility equipment.
  • Verifies component information, specifications, and location before installation.
  • Reads instructions, prints, manuals, and written procedural instructions.
  • Safely and professionally utilizes hand tools, power tools, shop equipment, electrical instrumentation, and forklift.
  • Works on pipe systems, which involves repairing, modifying, and installing systems.
  • Uses cutting torch and bronze with a torch.
  • Performs millwright work such as aligning a pump and motor with a dial indicator, installing sheaves, belts, aligning equipment, checking installation for square and belt tension.
  • Removes and installs bearings and performs all maintenance work required on bearings.
  • Works with applicable predictive technologies to improve operations.
  • Assists with maintaining accurate records to include but not limited to: Maximo, storeroom, calibration, and drawings.
  • Assists supervision in the design of new equipment as well as replacement equipment to enhance the performance of plant electrical systems.
  • Completes Preventative Maintenance and Down Day work orders with precision, ensuring that all components are verified for proper operation prior to startup.
  • Works in conjunction with Operations to ensure that all equipment has been tested and is working in a safe manner and with satisfying results.
  • Works scheduled shifts and overtime as assigned.
  • Completes Daily Paperwork to be turned in at the end of each shift, properly documenting all observed details (includes maintaining electrical log).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 3 or more years of demonstrated experience in an Industrial Maintenance Position OR a certificate or higher degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field coupled with 1 or more years of Maintenance experience in an Industrial setting.
  • For current GAF employees applying to this role only, 5 or more years of experience in an Operator role at GAF AND actively pursuing Certificate or higher degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field.

Qualifications

Skills

  • Advanced degree or certifications are preferred.

Base Hourly Rate: $39.32

Schedule
