Mechanical Insulation Estimator - Ashburn, VA

About the role

A leading specialty contractor serving the commercial, industrial, and non-residential construction markets is seeking an experienced Mechanical Insulation Estimator to join its growing team in the Northern Virginia area.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs for mechanical insulation construction projects
• Develop labor productivity estimates and project budgets
• Obtain competitive pricing from vendors and suppliers
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor proposals where required
• Review project plans, specifications, schedules, and bid documents
• Assess project risks and determine appropriate pricing strategies
• Participate in internal bid reviews and estimating meetings
• Build and maintain strong client and industry relationships
• Utilize wage and benefit schedules during the estimating process
• Support project turnover meetings with operations teams upon award
• Assist with change order pricing and project cost analysis
• Collaborate with other estimators and project teams across business units

Qualifications

• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Excellent communication and customer relationship skills
• Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
• Ability to interpret project schedules, sequencing, and durations
• Experience with estimating and takeoff software such as: On-Screen Takeoff, BuzzBID, QuickBidMIKE
• Proficiency with: Microsoft Office, Bluebeam Revu, ProcorePlanSwift
• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 2+ years of construction estimating experience
• Experience estimating mechanical insulation scopes, including HVAC piping and duct insulation
• Experience within commercial, industrial, mission critical, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or institutional construction environments

Pay

Salary Range: $88,000 - $116,000 base salary
In addition to base compensation, the position offers a performance-based bonus opportunity and a highly competitive benefits package.
