Mechanical Inspector (Part-Time/On-Call)

Responsibilities

• Provide first-article inspection of high-precision machined hardware for R&D projects.
• Inspect and document as-built dimensions for machined hardware (tight tolerances, open setups).
• Conduct incoming inspections of parts and materials from outside vendors.
• Offer suggestions for process improvement.

Requirements

• Previous inspection training and experience.
• Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Manual dexterity to handle small parts.
• Attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently.
• Experience with Zeiss Contura CMM using Calypso Software (preferred).

Qualifications

• US Citizen or Permanent Resident only.

Skills

• Inspection skills.
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) knowledge.
• Manual dexterity.
• Attention to detail.
• Process improvement suggestions.
• Zeiss Contura CMM and Calypso Software proficiency (preferred).

Pay

$27 to $38 per hour, depending on skills and experience.

Schedule

This is an on-call position requiring 30 to 60 hours per month. The schedule will be determined based on the selected candidate. Availability for part-time evening work is highly desirable.
