Mechanical Inspector Part Time

About the role

SAFEbuilt is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Building Official. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations, conducting inspections, and providing technical guidance to developers and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Review construction plans and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
• Conduct routine and special inspections of construction sites to ensure adherence to safety standards and building codes.
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to developers, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding building code requirements.
• Issue permits and maintain accurate records of all issued permits.
• Respond to complaints and inquiries related to building code violations.
• Participate in public meetings and provide input on zoning and land use issues.
• Keep abreast of changes in building codes and regulations through professional development activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in building inspection or related field.
• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications

• Experience with building permit processing and record keeping.
• Knowledge of construction materials and methods.
• Ability to perform basic calculations and measurements.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Pay

$80,000 - $90,000 annually based on experience.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
