Mechanical Inspector Part Time

About the role

SAFEbuilt is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Building Official. This position will be responsible for overseeing building inspections, enforcing local building codes, and ensuring compliance with state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee routine and special inspections of construction projects to ensure compliance with local and state building codes.
• Review and approve building plans and permits according to established guidelines and standards.
• Enforce building codes and regulations, including fire safety, structural integrity, and accessibility requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and training to contractors and other stakeholders on building code compliance.
• Respond to complaints and conduct investigations related to building code violations.
• Prepare reports and documentation as required by regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in building inspection or related field.
• Knowledge of local and state building codes and regulations.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Experience with computer software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar drafting tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of building materials and construction techniques.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects.

Pay

Salary range: $60,000 - $80,000 annually.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
