Mechanical Inspector I-IV

Responsibilities

• Mechanical Inspector I: Prepare required inspection documentation, perform inspections, verify remediation actions, and maintain accurate records.

• Mechanical Inspector II: Perform critical quality-testing activities, validate product requirements, inspect complex parts, and assist in training.

• Mechanical Inspector III: Assist engineering with special validation requirements, participate in design reviews, and provide CMM On-Job-Training.

• Mechanical Inspector IV: Create CMM and NC inspection programs, verify PC-DMIS reports, and implement process improvements.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.

• Minimum of 1 year related experience for Mechanical Inspector I.

• Minimum of 2 years related experience for Mechanical Inspector II.

• Minimum of 4 years of related experience as a mechanical or senior process inspector for Mechanical Inspector III.

• High school diploma and 10+ years related experience, minimum of 2 years of PC-DMIS programming experience, and equivalent experience or approved development / succession plan for Mechanical Inspector IV.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to accurately use common inspection instruments.

• Understanding of KUAS quality policies and standards.

• Ability to read, understand, and create/update required documentation.

• Knowledge of statistical process control tools (SPC).

Skills

• Basic math calculations.

• Operating inspection tools.

• CMM programming using PC-DMIS or other application language.

• A&P (Airframe and Power plant) certification.

• Industry certifications such as Mechanical Inspector, Auditor, or other quality function.

• GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing).
