Mechanical Helper

Job Summary

Under the direction of the site supervisor, candidate is responsible for predictive and preventative practices to safely assist mechanics to repair, install, and troubleshoot facility equipment.

Responsibilities

• Equipment lubrication
• Air filter changes / Air handler maintenance
• Record keeping / work requests
• Lighting / ballast replacement / electrical installations / troubleshooting
• Plumbing / drain clearing, flushometer repairs / faucet repairs
• Air compressor maintenance, oil changes, exchanger cleaning
• Pumps, cleaning strainers
• Exhaust systems, belt changes
• Cooling, coil cleaning, temperature adjustments
• Heating / coil cleaning / steam boiler repairs

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must possess valid driver's license
• High School Diploma, GED or suitable equivalent is required
• Must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in potential hazards such as a chemical environment
• Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC operations
• The utilization of basic tools and specialized equipment to perform maintenance functions
• Ability to follow direction and work in a fast-paced team environment
