Mechanical Estimator

About the role

Responsible for estimating costs and preparing bid documents for construction projects. Works closely with project managers and clients to ensure accurate cost projections.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for construction projects
• Collaborate with project managers and clients to discuss project specifics and requirements
• Review and analyze project specifications and drawings to determine material quantities and labor hours needed
• Develop and maintain cost databases for materials and labor rates
• Communicate with vendors to obtain pricing information and negotiate contract terms
• Prepare bid documents including scopes of work, schedules, and cost breakdowns
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in construction estimating
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Qualifications

• Knowledge of construction industry practices and regulations
• Experience with construction estimating software
• Understanding of budgeting and financial management principles
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
