Mechanical Estimator

About the role

The Mechanical Estimator at Manhattan Construction Company is responsible for preparing estimates, guiding clients, and driving preconstruction deliverables within the mechanical scope of work. This role requires a strong understanding of unit pricing and mechanical scopes of work, along with the ability to negotiate and manage contracts.

Responsibilities

• Create estimates for mechanical/fire protection scopes of work
• Guide owners and drive preconstruction deliverables to budget
• Negotiate pricing for mechanical/fire protection scopes of work
• Manage vendor solicitation for mechanical/fire protection scopes of work
• Own contracts for mechanical/fire protection scopes of work
• Compile bid packages for mechanical/fire protection scopes of work
• Manage historical costs/estimating software database for mechanical/fire protection scopes of work
• Make recommendations for software updates for mechanical/fire protection scopes of work
• Conduct oneself according to the company's Guiding Principles and exhibit the Way We Work
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent
• At least 5 years of industry experience
• Experience with and knowledge of mechanical scopes of work (subcontractor/design firm)
