Mechanical Estimator

About the role

Seeking well-qualified commercial plumbing and HVAC/R estimator with 4-7 years experience to prepare complete mechanical services estimates for assigned project(s) of various sizes and complexities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates through review of specifications and drawings
• Attend pre-bid meetings
• Calculate complete takeoff of scope of work
• Interface with customer and other contractors to provide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility
• Follow awarded contracts
• Estimate/price extra work items, change orders, credits, procurement of material

Qualifications

• Educational and experience requirements include 4-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or experience, 4-7 years estimating, cost control and/or engineering experience related to similar facility construction
• Advanced knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control
• Ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems
• A thorough knowledge of plumbing and heating/ventilation/air conditioning
• A Master Plumbing License is a plus

Skills

• Familiarity with basic computer/PC programs and estimating software and Auto CAD
• Familiarity with FastEST estimating software a plus
• Willingness to receive continued training in technologically advanced estimating disciplines
