Mechanical Engineering Specialist (Design)

About the role

Design detailed parts, assemblies, and installations for aircraft structures, mission equipment, and mechanical systems. Research, develop layouts, prepare engineering drawings, and coordinate with Tooling, Flight Sciences, Manufacturing, and Production to ensure cost-effective designs that meet requirements.

Responsibilities

• Use advanced 3D CAD tools to design aircraft components and systems
• Work on various aircraft platforms and understand basic aircraft systems, structural repairs, and modifications
• Collaborate across teams to support design activities and ensure mission success
• Work in aircraft environments as required

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with six years of aerospace mechanical design experience, or a graduate degree with four years of experience, or ten years of experience without a degree
• Proficiency in CAD software (NX/Unigraphics, ProE, Catia)
• Excellent communication skills
• Willingness to travel
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret security clearance (or higher)
