About the role
Design detailed parts, assemblies, and installations for aircraft structures and mechanical systems. Work closely with Tooling, Flight Sciences, Manufacturing, and Production teams to deliver cost-effective designs that meet all technical and program requirements.
Responsibilities
- Research, develop layouts, and prepare engineering drawings.
- Utilize advanced 3D CAD tools (NX/Unigraphics preferred) for designing, collaborating with senior-level engineers on various aircraft systems.
- Work on diverse tasks related to aircraft platforms, including structural repairs, modifications, and system installations.
- Conduct physical work in aircraft hangar environments, including walking to/from the flight line and boarding/exiting aircraft.
- Understand basic aircraft systems, structural repairs, and modifications.
- Maintain excellent communication skills and proficiency with MS Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel and obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years or graduate degree with 4+ years of aerospace mechanical design experience, or 10+ years of experience without a degree.
- Minimum 4 years CAD experience (NX/Unigraphics preferred; ProE, Catia acceptable).
- Must be a US citizen.
- Preferred: Active Secret security clearance.
