Skills / Responsibilities
- Creation of Design Narratives
- Concept + SD MEP reviews
- Preliminary budgeting & infrastructure planning
- Major risk identification
- Existing conditions assessments (reno work)
- Capacity, loads, and code baseline validation
- Design Oversight & Integration
- Peer reviews (SD / DD / CD)
- Code compliance checks
- Constructability analysis (clearances, routing, access)
- Interface management between consultants + internal teams
- Alignment of design intent with budget & schedule
- Procurement & Cost Control
- Subcontractor bid leveling
- Scope gap identification (“gotchas”)
- Ensuring 100% scope coverage
- Value analysis / cost optimization without degrading performance
- Execution Support & System Delivery
- Field technical support (PMs & Supers)
- RFI resolution / conflict troubleshooting
- Installation support
- Commissioning assistance
- System performance alignment
What You Bring To The Table
- 8 + years of preconstruction or Commercial construction experience
- 5+ years of relevant MEP Preconstruction / Estimating experience
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
- Deep understanding of commercial HVAC and plumbing systems
- Strong grasp of IPC, IMC, and ASHRAE standards
- Expertise in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office products
- Experience with a variety of project types including Commercial (Office Buildings, Hotels, Religious, Life Science, Mission Critical, and Health-Care Facilities) and Industrial (Pharmaceutical and Manufacturing/Assembly Facilities)
Physical Demands
- Frequently operates a computer and other office productivity equipment
- Frequently ascends/descends ladders and stairs
- Constantly works in various outdoor weather conditions
- Frequently moves equipment up to 50Ibs to various locations on site
- Constantly communicates with subcontractors, vendors, and other members of project team
- Able to constantly move around job site on uneven surfaces
- Spend much of the day standing
- Able to adhere to consistent and timely attendance
