Responsibilities
- Participate in the full project cycle from design phase through construction close-out
- Research, design, and develop mechanical systems for buildings including HVAC, automatic temperature controls, and hydronic systems
- Review and integrate installation plans and ensure compliance with design specifications
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and project budgets
- Manage project timelines and obtain necessary approvals for scope changes
- Coordinate with clients and project teams to provide technical expertise and support
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and maintain records
- Exercise ethical decision-making and comply with company policies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field
- 7-10 years of relevant post-education experience in engineering
- Experience with HVAC systems and automatic temperature controls for commercial buildings
- Excellent communication and engineering skills, including conceptual and interdisciplinary abilities
- Hands-on knowledge and experience with Revit and AutoCAD
- P.E. license required
- Proven track record of workplace safety and adherence to WSP’s policies
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices
- Experience with complex sector spaces such as healthcare and laboratories
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team on multiple concurrent projects
- Ability to work flexible hours to meet project requirements
