Lead Professional, Mechanical Engineering

Responsibilities

• Participate in the full project cycle from design phase through construction close-out
• Research, design, and develop mechanical systems for buildings including HVAC, automatic temperature controls, and hydronic systems
• Review and integrate installation plans and ensure compliance with design specifications
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and project budgets
• Manage project timelines and obtain necessary approvals for scope changes
• Coordinate with clients and project teams to provide technical expertise and support
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and maintain records
• Exercise ethical decision-making and comply with company policies

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field
• 7-10 years of relevant post-education experience in engineering
• Experience with HVAC systems and automatic temperature controls for commercial buildings
• Excellent communication and engineering skills, including conceptual and interdisciplinary abilities
• Hands-on knowledge and experience with Revit and AutoCAD
• P.E. license required
• Proven track record of workplace safety and adherence to WSP’s policies

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices
• Experience with complex sector spaces such as healthcare and laboratories
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team on multiple concurrent projects
• Ability to work flexible hours to meet project requirements
