Mechanical Engineer, Warfighter Systems
About the role
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company dedicated to transforming military capabilities with advanced technology. The Mechanical Engineer will develop a soldier-borne Army vision system combining cutting-edge multi-spectral sensors, compute, thermal management, and ballistic intercept.
Responsibilities
- Part of a team developing a soldier-borne Army vision system
- Experience with military specifications and wearable systems
- Manage complex parts and assemblies, produce high-quality engineering drawings
- Design for comfort, fit, and usability for prolonged wear in tactical environments
- Perform first-order analyses for trade studies and concept designs
- Knowledge of techniques for fabricating and assembling materials, including molding, laminating, and machining
- Understand how temperature, humidity, and other environmental factors affect materials and performance
- Eligible for a U.S. Security Clearance
Qualifications & Critical Competencies
- BS, M.Eng, MS or PhD in an engineering field
- 1-6 years Mechanical Engineering Experience
- CAD skills (any platform)
- High competencies with detailed mechanical design for traditional and additive manufacturing from prototype through production with metallics and composites
- Ergonomics and Human Factors: Designing for comfort, fit, and usability
- Structural/Thermal Analysis: Ability to perform first order analyses
- Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of techniques for fabricating and assembling materials, including molding, laminating, and machining
- Thermal and Environmental Considerations: Understanding how temperature, humidity, and other environmental factors affect materials and performance
- Military qualification programs including a deep understanding of MIL-STD requirements
- NX/Teamcenter, including FEA extensions
- Rapid prototyping and iterating with 3D printed assets
- U.S. Security Clearance eligibility
Preferred Qualifications
- Consumer electronics packaging and design
- Design for cameras, displays, SoC integration, and ruggedization
- Experience with a military qualification programs including a deep understanding of MIL-STD requirements
- NX/Teamcenter, including FEA extensions
- Rapid prototyping and iterating with 3D printed assets
- U.S. Security Clearance eligibility
Pay
$129,000—$150,000 USD
