SimVentions is 100% employee-owned and proudly ranks among Virginia’s Best Places to Work year after year. We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to provide advanced engineering support to the AN/SLQ ‑ 32(V)6 program at Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane.
Responsibilities
- Analyze system deficiencies, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide technical troubleshooting for AN/SLQ ‑ 32(V)6 systems, including remote engineering assistance to fleet units.
- Develop deep system-level understanding to support timely and effective resolution of fleet-reported issues.
- Affiliate with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and In-Service Engineering Agencies (ISEAs) to ensure technical accuracy.
- Support impact analyses, configuration updates, and technical documentation modifications associated with approved changes.
- Conduct periodic evaluations of existing Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs) for accuracy and compliance with current system configurations.
- Develop new MRCs based on engineering changes, maintenance updates, and feedback from fleet operators and maintainers.
- Ensure alignment with Navy maintenance policies, standards, and logistics documentation.
- Support planning, coordination, and execution of Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT) efforts for system components.
- Review test data, environmental reports, and analyses for technical correctness and compliance with qualification criteria.
- Document all testing results and technical data accurately to support traceability and lifecycle documentation requirements.
Requirements
- United States Citizenship
- Active Secret Clearance (or above)
- Master’s degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 7 years of professional engineering experience
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical or electro-mechanical systems
- Experience documenting engineering analyses, test results, and technical recommendations
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate technical data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
- Ability to collaborate effectively with government stakeholders, OEMs, and engineering support teams
- Comfortable working on-site at NSWC Crane and supporting a dynamic engineering environment
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with Navy EW systems, specifically the AN/SLQ ‑ 32 family
- Familiarity with Environmental Qualification Testing processes and standards
- Understanding of configuration management practices and engineering change processes
- Background in generating or maintaining Navy maintenance documentation (MRCs, tech manuals, etc.)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple engineering tasks simultaneously

Pay
The projected annual compensation range for this position is $115,000 – $145,000 (USD).
Schedule
This position requires up to 25% travel.
