Responsibilities
- Design and oversee complex testing programs
- Provide expert guidance on complex communication challenges
- Create compelling narratives and tailor content for specific audiences
- Develop technical documents with precision and accuracy
- Create intricate 2D or 3D designs and produce precise technical drawings
- Understand the tie-in between testing and verification and validation of requirements
- Develop program plans, understand acquisition life cycles, and coordinate activities
- Understand reliability and safety principles, advanced skills in requirements analysis, and comprehensive knowledge in risk management
- Lead activities and develop tailored strategies
- Lead small teams, understand operations research principles, understand complex procurement tasks, create simple proposals, and manage simple schedules
- Communicate goals and expectations, develop procurement strategies, manage vendor evaluations, analyze supplier performance, and implement effective contract management practices
- Understand propellant chemistry, combustion principles, grain geometry, internal ballistics, and solid propellant manufacturing processes
- Design simple control systems, understand diagrams and specifications, and implement basic algorithms
- Conduct requirements elicitation, prioritize stakeholder needs, and document requirements using standard templates
- Understand solid rocket motor performance principles, including thrust, specific impulse, and propellant combustion
- Understand CFD principles, navigate software interfaces, and perform simulations
- Set up and run structural analysis models, interpret results, and apply engineering judgment
- Identify manufacturing and assembly issues related to geometric tolerances
- Understand basic battery design principles, cable/wire harness design, circuit board design, rocket motor ignition systems, and software design principles
Requirements
- Fifteen (15) or more years of mechanical engineering experience
- Bachelor of Science required in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline from an accredited university. May consider equivalent experience in lieu of degree
- Positive, cooperative, self-motivated, and professional behavior
- Able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance

- Must be able to travel approximately 10% of the time
