Mechanical Engineer (Topside Package)

About the role

The role involves understanding and adhering to the project and purchase order schedules with suppliers. The engineer is also responsible for reviewing top-side engineering subcontractor deliverables such as MDS, Specifications, TBE Reports, POQR, TQ, and interdisciplinary documents related to packages, aligning these with project specifications.

Responsibilities

• Expedite responses from top-side engineering subcontractors, clients, vendors, and cross-disciplinary teams.
• Maintain close monitoring of engineering subcontractor progress to ensure that project targets are met.
• Participate in bid clarification meetings, kick-off meetings, design reviews, technical safety studies workshops, and model reviews for packages.
• Support procurement in resolving technical disputes and discrepancies, as applicable.
• Review and provide comments on vendor-submitted documents during detailed engineering stages.
• Offer technical support to the installation, construction, and commissioning teams.
• Attend factory acceptance tests (FATs) and receive inspections, as assigned.
• Resolve comments related to packages managed.

Requirements

• Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Mechatronics or related engineering disciplines.
• Minimum 6 years of working experience in planning, designing, and constructing mechanical designs within the oil and gas industry.
