Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, design, procurement, installation, and modification of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Develop engineering packages, technical specifications, and scopes of work for plant improvement projects.
- Evaluate existing system performance and recommend upgrades or modifications.
- Participate in project scoping, budgeting, scheduling, and engineering reviews.
- Prepare equipment specifications for: Heat exchangers, Pumps, Pressure vessels, Cooling systems, Tanks, Process equipment.
- Develop equipment inquiry and RFQ packages.
- Review vendor proposals and perform technical bid evaluations.
- Provide recommendations for equipment selection and procurement.
- Review supplier documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Conduct field walkdowns and collect engineering data required for project execution.
- Support plant operations, maintenance, and reliability initiatives.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), specifications, and technical documents.
- Coverage with operations, maintenance, project management, procurement, and construction teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of engineering experience in one or more of the following industries: Power Generation, Utilities, Chemical Processing, Petrochemical, Refining, Manufacturing, or Heavy Industrial Facilities.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and industrial equipment.
- Ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop practical solutions.
- Experience working in operating industrial facilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency with engineering software and CAD tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience at nuclear generating stations.
- Combined Cycle Power Plant experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience supporting capital projects and facility upgrades.
- Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and engineering best practices.
