About the Role

Our Nashville office is seeking a licensed Mechanical Engineer to join a multidisciplinary design team. The position will be within our Industrial Power and Process division with a primary focus on large utility generation/distribution systems and industrial process/manufacturing facilities. The role will also include business development, marketing, and project management duties.

Responsibilities

• Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
• Design steam systems, hydronic systems, gas compression and distribution systems, building mechanical systems, site and facility arrangements, and general process or industrial facility projects.
• Design power generation facilities.
• Develop drawing and specification packages for Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build project styles.
• Assist the Project Management team with coordination of other disciplines and client interactions to establish project schedules and expectations.
• Coordinate disciplines to ensure project deliverables are constructible.
• Manage, direct, and supervise mechanical engineering staff to meet project schedules and budget goals.
• Apply and ensure compliance with applicable codes.
• Supplement Salas O’Brien design standards and administrative procedures as needed.
• Assist team leader in manpower projections, scheduling, and maintaining/developing client base through business development efforts.
• Assist market segment manager and team leader in preparing RFP responses, including project write-ups, resumes, and fee development.
• Lead proposal processes and identify prospective clients to establish relationships.
• Identify new opportunities with synergistic benefits to existing business.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited school.
• Professional Engineers (PE) license preferred.
• Knowledge of engineering theories and methodologies.
• Knowledge of project approach and system design.
• Willingness to build and maintain client relationships.
