Mechanical Engineer - Industrial Buildings and Utility Systems

Responsibilities
- Bring mechanical systems to life in a variety of industrial facilities.
- Experience with a range of building and utility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and process utility systems.
- Provide solutions to complex problems facing manufacturing and related customers.
- Engaged in design, preconstruction planning, construction and startup.
- Working with equipment partners to leverage the best technical solutions to the problems at hand.
- Project Delivery Methods - Design-Bid-Build and Owner’s Engineer, depending on need.
- Facility Types – Industrial facilities such as food and beverage manufacturing, agricultural processing, semiconductor manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, automotive manufacturing or other leading edge industries.
- Systems – HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Boilers, Chillers, Compressed Gases.
- Studies: Engineering studies, system performance reviews, and energy compliance calculations.
- Code Review/Application: Facility review for code compliance.
- Sustainable Design/LEED: Application of sustainable strategies.
- Project Execution: Mechanical Quality Plans, Equipment Sizing and Selection, Mechanical System Layouts, Contractor Selection and Coordination.
Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program.
- Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC Heatloads, energy modeling, HVAC equipment sizing, technical submittal reviewing process, bid reviewing process, Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam Revu or other markup tool, Revit or CAD experience, International Codes Council (ICC) Suite of Codes, ASHRAE, ASME, NFPA Handbooks / Standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with a range of building and utility systems.
- Computer generated HVAC Heatloads, energy modeling and HVAC equipment sizing.
- Technical Submittal reviewing process.
- Bid reviewing process.
- Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bluebeam Revu or other markup tool, Revit or CAD experience a plus.
- International Codes Council (ICC) Suite of Codes.
- ASHRAE, ASME, NFPA Handbooks / Standards.

This position would require working in a typical office environment. The position may entail prolonged periods of sitting and computer use, and the professional would ideally be able to maintain focus and attention to detail throughout the workday. The position may also be require physical tasks during site visits, including crouching, grasping, and standing/walking for extended periods of time.
