Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design projects from concept through construction
- Develop technical specifications, contract documents, and oversee bidding processes
- Provide construction administration, including shop drawing reviews, field inspections, and answering contractor RFI's
- Maintain QA/QC compliance and adhere to project standards
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering technical excellence and growth
- Perform mechanical design for large HVAC, plumbing, and process systems
- Cook up designs using 3D modeling tools, i.e., Revit or Navisworks
- Prepare engineering drawings, PFDs, P&IDs, and control diagrams
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and client needs
- Collaborate with project managers and technical leaders to deliver high-quality solutions
- Write a sequence of operations for mechanical designs
- Participate in proposal writing and fee development for major projects
- Represent Verdantas at client meetings and industry events to strengthen relationships
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- 6-10 years of mechanical design experience in building systems
- PE license
- Proficiency in HVAC systems, pumps, piping, valves, and controls
- HAP HVAC modeling is preferred
- Familiarity with Navisworks, Point Cloud, AutoCAD/Revit, and 3D scanning tools
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience with managing projects (single or multi-disciplinary)
Qualifications
- Strong passion for mentorship and commitment to technical excellence
- Knowledge of construction codes, means, and methods
- LEED AP or other sustainability credentials preferred

Pay
The minimum salary for this position is $110,000 (negotiable based on the criteria presented above).
Schedule
This hybrid role is based in Wilkes-Barre, Bethlehem, or Wexford, PA.
