Mechanical Engineer - Power (Multiple Locations)

As a member of our project teams, you will create world-class mechanical designs for new power projects, alterations, and redevelopments. You will collaborate with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting plans to meet budget constraints, design factors, and client needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical design from the conceptual phase through design completion.
• Modify and review production drawings for various power projects.
• Design mechanical systems and select components based on project requirements set by project managers.
• Prepare mechanical equipment specifications, including packaged equipment specs, data sheets, Request for Qualifications (RFQs), technical bid summaries, and purchase recommendations.
• Review mechanical equipment vendor drawings and interface data with suppliers, clients, other engineering disciplines, detailers, and designers.
• Apply strong knowledge of mechanical engineering concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures.
• Research and compile project-related data as required by project managers.
• Conduct quality reviews and update production drawings to verify corrections using multiple CAD-related software.
• Oversee construction administration, including coordination with field personnel to resolve design-related installation issues, calculations, field inspections, and testing of mechanical systems.
• Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration for power generating facilities.
• Communicate with other engineering disciplines (electrical, structural, civil) for efficient project coordination.
• Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations for public and private clients.
• Handle additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program.
• Alternatively, a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program with successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
• Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering may substitute for 1 year of experience.
• 3 years of mechanical engineering experience, consulting preferred.
• Successful completion (passing) of FE or EIT preferred.
• Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment with demonstrated critical thinking skills.
• Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, BIM (Revit), 3D Rendering Programs, hydraulic analysis, and HVAC analysis programs.
• Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Pay

$100,000.00 - $165,000.00 yearly. The expected compensation range is based on individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and work location. The total annual compensation package includes a base salary and eligibility for a discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
