Mechanical Engineer (PE)

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Prepare commercial kitchen hood drawings and mechanical floor plans.
• Develop plumbing plans related to commercial kitchen installations.
• Capture coordination with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) plans.
• Produce accurate, permit-ready drawings using AutoCAD (Revit experience is a plus).
• Revise drawings based on agency comments and project requirements.
• Assist with NYC DOB permit filings and plan revisions.
• Perform site visits as needed to verify existing conditions and measurements.
• Work closely with project managers and field personnel to ensure designs are accurate and buildable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and MEP drawings.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience preparing mechanical and plumbing drawings for commercial projects.
• Familiarity with NYC Building Code, Mechanical Code, Plumbing Code, and DOB permitting processes.
• Revit experience is a plus.
• A Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred and will be compensated accordingly.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is also considered an asset.
