Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Prepare commercial kitchen hood drawings and mechanical floor plans.
- Develop plumbing plans related to commercial kitchen installations.
- Capture coordination with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) plans.
- Produce accurate, permit-ready drawings using AutoCAD (Revit experience is a plus).
- Revise drawings based on agency comments and project requirements.
- Assist with NYC DOB permit filings and plan revisions.
- Perform site visits as needed to verify existing conditions and measurements.
- Work closely with project managers and field personnel to ensure designs are accurate and buildable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and plumbing systems.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and MEP drawings.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience preparing mechanical and plumbing drawings for commercial projects.
- Familiarity with NYC Building Code, Mechanical Code, Plumbing Code, and DOB permitting processes.
- Revit experience is a plus.
- A Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred and will be compensated accordingly.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is also considered an asset.
