Job Role
The Mechanical Engineer – New Graduate will be involved in creating detailed mechanical designs for refrigeration systems in cold storage and food processing facilities. This role emphasizes technical growth, collaboration, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Design mechanical rooms, rooftop penthouses, and piping systems for industrial refrigeration.
- Perform engineering calculations including thermal analysis, tolerance dimensions, and structural assessments.
- Ensure all designs comply with company standards, industry regulations, and customer specifications.
- Prepare and submit detailed design drawings to internal teams for review and approval.
- Provide technical support during the fabrication and installation phases to ensure design accuracy.
- Create Bills of Materials (BOM) and input data into the ERP system.
- Collaborate with fabrication teams to ensure correct execution of designs.
- Coincide with purchasing for timely and accurate procurement of materials.
- Communicate with vendors to clarify part specifications and manufacturing requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software (e.g., Inventor, SolidWorks).
- Solid understanding of mechanical and refrigeration engineering principles.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Occasional travel to job sites may be required depending on project needs.
- This is a safety-sensitive position and requires pre-employment and regular drug testing.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position (seated or standing) for extended periods.
- Occasionally may need to lift or carry items up to 25 pounds (e.g., office supplies, small equipment).
Preferences
- Experience with sheet metal and pipe fabrication.
- EIT (Engineer-in-Training) License.
- Interest in obtaining a Professional Engineering (PE) License.
- Background in refrigeration systems or HVAC/MEP experience.
