Responsibilities
- Design and document MEP mechanical systems including HVAC systems, plumbing systems, building automation systems, and temperature controls for aviation, education, civic, tribal, commercial, and federal facilities.
- Produce Revit models, construction documents, drawings, specifications, diagrams, 3D models, and reports that align with project goals.
- Perform mechanical engineering calculations, including heating and cooling load analysis, energy modeling, ventilation calculations, equipment sizing, and system selection.
- Apply building codes, ASHRAE standards, and industry guidelines to ensure functional, compliant solutions.
- Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and team coordination efforts.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, and internal teams to deliver integrated outcomes.
- Support QA/QC, construction administration, submittal reviews, RFIs, field observations, and coordination with contractors and owners.
- Lead project documentation and mentor junior staff (mid- and senior-level roles).
Qualifications
- Entry-Level / EIT: Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering field, Engineer in Training / EIT certification, FE exam passed, 0–2 years of experience.
- Mid-Level: Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, FE exam passed and actively pursuing Professional Engineer / PE licensure, 5+ years of progressive experience, demonstrated ability to lead design efforts and coordinate small to mid-scale projects.
- Senior Engineer: Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, active Professional Engineer / PE license, 10+ years of progressive experience leading mechanical design.
- Proficiency in Revit required; experience with AutoCAD, BIM coordination, HVAC load calculation software, energy modeling tools, and Microsoft Office is a plus.
- Strong understanding of mechanical building systems, MEP documentation, interdisciplinary coordination, building codes, ASHRAE standards, and construction administration.
- Experience in consulting engineering, architecture and engineering, or building systems design for aviation, civic, commercial, tribal, mission critical, or federal work is highly valued.
