About the role

SSR is a leading comprehensive engineering design and consulting firm providing innovative solutions for clients with facility and infrastructure challenges. The Mechanical EIT assists senior design staff in executing technical activities on assigned projects, learning discipline-specific standards, and contributing to timely, budget-conscious deliverables consistent with industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Learn industry standards and company technical policies and procedures during project execution
  • Observe and apply design analyses using industry software
  • Assist with production of designs in Revit and/or CADD under senior staff guidance
  • Participate in design processes and analyses on assigned projects, seeking assistance as needed
  • Perform basic computer-based engineering calculations and system design functions
  • Coordinate project designs with other disciplines to determine equipment needs and provide technical input
  • Assist in developing man-hour budgets and technical documentation, proposals, and presentations
  • Communicate design requirements with contractors and equipment sales representatives to assess project scope and feasibility
  • Join senior staff on job site visits to evaluate field conditions and monitor progress against specifications, owner expectations, and codes
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, schematics, and engineering reports
  • Attend internal and external training and educational opportunities to build technical knowledge

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited college
  • Knowledge of industry-specific software (e.g., Revit and AutoCAD)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Understanding of engineering theories and methodologies
