Mechanical Engineer II, Harness & Interconnect
About the role
The Precision Control Actuation System (PCAS) department within Raytheon is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development, build, and verification of harnessing systems. This is an onsite role located in Tucson, AZ.
Responsibilities
- Work autonomously with regular and periodic oversight
- Knowledge of the harness and interconnect domain
- Coach and review the work of other professionals
- Support may include but is not limited to: detailed mechanical design, test design and execution, systems engineering, proposals and estimates, or earned value management
- Flex responsibilities based on current organizational needs and professional skill sets
Qualifications
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience
- A minimum of 2 years of engineering design experience
- Experience with development of harnessing requirements, system architecture, requirements risk, requirements verification and validation, system performance & function, safety and environmental compliance
- Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5
- Experience with any Harness and Interconnect systems
- Experience with Pro/Engineer/CREO 3D modeling and mechanical drawing generation
- Proven design and manufacturing knowledge in machined parts, injection molded parts, wire harnesses/flex harnesses and related components

Pay and Benefits
The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit and whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
