Mechanical Engineer / Gas and Steam Turbine (Staff thru Consulting)

Job Description

• Technical support for the fossil fleet operations and maintenance for rotating equipment
• Perform root cause analysis
• Provide innovative engineering solutions for difficult problems
• Contributes to economic justification/analysis for projects
• Participate in and lead special projects or teams
• Individual contributor in Mechanical Rotating Equipment Engineering
• Provides technical support on a fleetwide basis, specific to turbines
• Maintain effective working relationships
• Be able to explain technical information to ensure work/repairs completed correctly

Requirements

• BS or greater in an Engineering discipline
• Licensed Professional Engineer or meets additional years of experience requirements
• Demonstrates and applies knowledge of current and pending regulatory, code and general industry issues to resolve Vistra’s interests
• Proficient with technical evaluation processes
• Proficient in fossil, solar, battery, or nuclear plant technologies
• Minimum 8 years' experience in power plant operations / engineering or comparable industries
• Demonstrates application of fundamental scientific principles

Qualifications

• Must be able to effectively communicate with peers, management and/or represent Vistra’s interests to outside agencies
• Able to execute projects/strategies with some oversight
• Demonstrated high performer through consecutive evaluations or work history for external candidates

Pay

Pay grade and salary will be determined by education and experience.
