Mechanical Engineer Co-Op - Fall 2027

Salary: $30.00 per hour (housing stipend available)

Focus

The Mechanical Engineer Co‑Op supports maintenance and production with reliability, design, and maintenance of mechanical equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role can serve as the engineering representative on capital projects including justification, obtaining approval, ordering, and installation processes and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead a minimum of three hands‑on projects throughout the term, defined at the beginning of the rotation based on department and business need.
• Provide reliability leadership for rotating (pumps, compressors) and fixed (heat exchangers, piping systems, and process tanks) equipment.
• Support maintenance in development of policies and procedures for preventative and predictive maintenance.
• Participate in plant turnarounds, update P&IDs, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Enrolled at an accredited college or university majoring in an undergraduate Mechanical Engineering degree program.
• Maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale; official transcript required each term.
• Completed sophomore year (or 60 credit hours) prior to first rotation.
• Ability to work full‑time (40 hours/week) during normal business hours; not eligible for virtual work.
• Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; Olin does not provide sponsorship.

Pay

• $30.00 per hour.
• Housing stipend available.
