About the role
The Energy Solutions division of CMTA is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer to join our teams in Baltimore, MD; Fairfax and Richmond, VA; Boston, MA; and California. This division is the fastest growing part of our company. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, thrives on helping clients, and possesses the technical background to lead all phases of our work. While this role is within our performance contracting division, engineers with strong HVAC design and commissioning experience can transition into an energy engineering role within our Energy Solutions group.
Responsibilities
- Help develop and present project opportunities to potential clients
- Support client meetings, industry events, and proposal development
- Conduct project development including site visits, audits, and energy calculations
- Review engineering design of drawings and specifications
- Support the bidding process to ensure quality and competitive outcomes
- Facilitate the contract administration process
- Work with the construction manager to ensure a smooth construction period
- Commission installed systems to validate performance
- Support the client through the warranty phase as needed
- Collaborate with our Measurement & Verification (M&V) professional to develop M&V reports
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline
- 0-3 years of experience with an Energy Services company OR a consulting engineering/commissioning firm (preferred)
- Strong background in HVAC design and commissioning
- Current work authorization in the U.S. (visa sponsorship is not available for this position)

Pay
Base Salary Range:
- Fairfax, VA; Baltimore, MD; California; and Massachusetts: $75,000 - $90,000
- Richmond, VA: $65,000 - $80,000
This role is eligible for an annual performance-based bonus. Bonus eligibility and payout are determined by role, individual performance, and company performance, and are not guaranteed.
