About the role
This Mechanical Engineer will develop mechanical designs in support of various Buildings Design Business Line projects. Specific responsibilities include:
- Building HVAC system(s)
- Building plumbing system(s)
- Building fire protection system(s)
- Whole building energy modeling
- Building sustainability requirements reporting
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include:
- Leading the planning, design, and commissioning of building projects
- Coordinating with other support disciplines and regional offices
- Aiding project managers in project management
- Following quality assurance and quality control plans
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or architectural engineering with a mechanical focus from an ABET accredited university or college
- Past the Fundamentals of Engineering exam
- 5-10 years of building design and construction industry experience
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering principals related to building mechanical designs
- Proven experience overseeing mechanical designs, including detailed plans and specifications for building projects
- Tech competency in building mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
- Strong communication skills
- Experience with Autodesk Revit
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
Preferred Skills
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- Experience with AIA MasterSpec
- Knowledge of Federal Agencies design criteria
