About the role

This Mechanical Engineer will develop mechanical designs in support of various Buildings Design Business Line projects. Specific responsibilities include:

Building HVAC system(s)
Building plumbing system(s)
Building fire protection system(s)
Whole building energy modeling
Building sustainability requirements reporting

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include:

Mentor and train technical staff.
Interface with clients on project design, delivery, and construction.
Manage project budget and schedule compliance.
Oversee the mechanical design of building projects throughout the project lifecycle from the conceptual phase, design phase, and construction phase.
Utilize BIM design software to produce construction drawings.
Utilize Microsoft Excel based calculation tools for design calculations.
Manage multiple assignments concurrently.
Be responsible for time management and product quality.
Follow Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plans.
Continuously learn and adapt based on project needs and team needs.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or architectural engineering with a mechanical focus from an ABET accredited university or college.
Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
5-10 years of building design and construction industry experience.
Knowledge of mechanical engineering principals related to building mechanical designs.
Proven experience overseeing mechanical designs, including detailed plans and specifications for building projects.
Techically competent in building mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
Strong communication skills.
Experience with Autodesk Revit.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite.

Preferred Skills

Licensed Professional Engineer.
Experience with AIA MasterSpec.
Knowledge of Federal Agencies design criteria.
