Mechanical Engineer
About the role
Our office in San Jose, CA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a dynamic multi-discipline team working on projects for Data Centers, Commercial, Telecom, Education, and other sophisticated facilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop HVAC system designs based on project scope and client requests
- Provide engineering design, evaluation, and planning for mechanical systems in various market types
- Conduct existing building surveys and document HVAC systems
- Perform load/energy calculations using appropriate software
- Write and edit project specifications
- Develop system design calculations and select equipment for buildings
- Prepare detailed design documents, reports, and studies
- Research and comply with codes and regulations
- Collaborate with teammates from other design disciplines to ensure project coordination
- Provide construction administration services
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control of design work
Skills
- Proficiency in engineering tools and software, including Autodesk
- Flexibility and willingness to handle diverse projects and tasks
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Strong collaboration skills in a team setting
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Desire to continuously learn and grow
- Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to travel up to 40%
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 2-5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering
- Registration as EIT or PE preferred
Pay & Benefits
The expected base salary range for this role is $85,000 to $105,000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
