Mechanical Engineer
This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office.
About the role
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer – Current Products to support and enhance Kollmorgen's portfolio of motors, actuators, and motion control solutions. In this role, you will develop mechanical design solutions, perform engineering analysis, validate product performance, and support customer applications. You will collaborate closely with electromagnetic, manufacturing, and customer-facing teams while managing multiple concurrent engineering projects. Success in this role means delivering reliable, cost-effective solutions that meet customer requirements, support product performance, and drive continuous improvement across our current product portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Develop mechanical concepts and perform design analysis, including structural (FEA), thermal, dynamic, and motion system evaluations.
- Review and negotiate specifications; lead internal and customer-facing design reviews.
- Communicate design intent to customers.
- Create detailed product documentation, including CAD models, assembly/layout drawings, Bills of Materials (BOM), and engineering change requests (ECR/ECN).
- Validate designs through testing to ensure compliance with internal standards and customer specifications.
- Provide technical support to customers and assist field service personnel as needed.
- Support sales efforts by evaluating RFQs, estimating BOMs, and preparing proposal drawings and technical content.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
- 2+ years of mechanical design engineering experience in a manufacturing or product development environment.
- Experience using 3D CAD software for mechanical design and documentation.
- Knowledge of engineering fundamentals including mechanics, materials, and machine design.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct engineering analysis and support product validation activities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and with customers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- Experience performing structural and stress analysis of mechanical systems and components.
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other advanced engineering analysis tools.
- Experience designing motors, actuators, motion-control products, or electromechanical systems.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, GD&T, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
- Experience supporting customer-facing engineering projects and technical reviews.
Pay
Expected Base Salary Range: $62,800 – $94,200. The salary range provided is intended to display the value of the company's base pay compensation for this position. Salary is dependent on a multitude of factors, including but not limited to the physical worksite location, the geographic market of that location, candidate's skill set, level of experience, education, and internal peer compensation comparisons, among other potential factors.

This role follows an onsite work schedule and requires working from your designated Regal Rexnord office on a full-time basis.
