About the role
The Mechanical Engineer will support product sustaining engineering activities across the Jetway product portfolio, providing engineering support for products ranging from long-established equipment to the latest offerings. This role involves collaboration across engineering disciplines to support product customization, maintainability, obsolescence initiatives, and issue resolution identified through manufacturing, testing, commissioning, and field operation. It is ideal for an early-career engineer eager to develop broad technical expertise and hands-on troubleshooting capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Support sustaining engineering activities, including product customization, maintainability, obsolescence, commissioning, and field-related needs.
- Perform engineering analysis, calculations, design evaluation, testing, and troubleshooting to resolve technical issues.
- Apply mechanical engineering principles (thermodynamics, engineering analysis) to evaluate product performance and develop solutions.
- Utilize and develop proficiency with engineering analysis tools such as finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and load calculations.
- Review, revise, and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Investigate product and system issues to determine root causes and develop engineering solutions.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, controls, software, design, manufacturing, and commissioning teams to resolve technical challenges.
- Support engineering changes and product updates related to obsolescence, maintainability, field performance, and evolving requirements.
- Assist with evaluation, testing, and validation of engineering solutions to ensure technical requirements are met.
- Develop knowledge of engineering standards, design practices, and technologies while updating technical documentation.
- Manage assigned engineering activities to meet project schedules, technical requirements, and organizational priorities.
- Participate as an engaged member of a collaborative engineering team, demonstrating initiative and technical curiosity.
Requirements
- Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
- Six or more months of related work experience (including internships).
Qualifications
- Experience with engineering analysis tools or methods (e.g., FEA, CFD, ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation).
- Coursework or project experience in thermodynamics, thermal analysis, or heat transfer.
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, or technical documentation.
- Exposure to troubleshooting, root cause analysis, testing, or resolving mechanical or multidisciplinary issues.
- Experience working on collaborative engineering projects involving multiple disciplines.
- Exposure to engineering standards, design guidelines, or industry practices.
- Interest in developing broad technical knowledge across diverse products and technologies.
Pay
$64,500.00 - $103,500.00 (U.S. locations). Individual pay is determined by experience, education, skills, and equity among team members.
