Mechanical Engineer
About the Role
Novelis, a global leader in aluminum recycling and rolling, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their Uhrichsville team. This role focuses on supporting equipment reliability, maintenance, and continuous improvement within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain equipment across all phases of heavy industrial plant engineering, typical of the metals industry.
- Provide mechanical expertise to troubleshoot equipment issues and meet production needs.
- Develop practical solutions to repetitive equipment failure problems.
- Contribute engineering expertise to project work and equipment selection.
- Assist in developing safe, effective, and efficient engineering and maintenance procedures.
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring efficiency, timely completion, and budget adherence.
- Adhere to company quality, environmental, health & safety, and certification standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
- Minimum 2-5 years of Mechanical Engineering experience.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
- Proactive attitude and ability to foster collaborative relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks without sacrificing attention to detail.
- Flexibility to operate in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Leadership skills to direct, lead, and develop personnel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and other relevant software applications.
- 2-5 years of industrial experience.

Location
The Uhrichsville facility, opened in 1985, produces flat rolled aluminum coil for building, construction, automotive, transportation, and consumer durable applications. With over 400 employees, the facility includes a recycling mill and rolling mill to create aluminum coils to customer specifications.
